Tarun Sporting Club showed good understanding and combined well as a team to inflict a crushing 5-1 defeat on Catholic Gymkhana in a one-sided First Division match of the MDFA League 2017-2018 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday.
The Tarun Sporting outfit settled down quickly and opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Kaushal Meher before Olivar Aitolya, who netted a brace of goals, scored his first in the 39th minute to double the lead. In the second half, Tarun Sporting continued to dictate terms and scored three quick goal through Somnath N. (71st minute), Ajijul Gayen (72nd minute) and Aitolya (79th minute) to complete Catholic Gym’s misery. Ashish Parab (76 minute) netted the lone goal for the losers.
In another match, Desperadoes SC overcame Blitzkrieg 2-0 with Sagar Gawde (19th minute) and Ivan Reddy (40th minute) scoring the goals.
