Rizvi Ceramics SC grabbed and early lead and then defended resolutely to clinch a close 1-0 win against Oscar Foundation SC in a keenly contested Third Division play-off encounter of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Thursday.
Seasoned striker Hassan Rizvi found the back of the net in the very fourth minute to give Rizvi Ceramics a slender advantage which they managed to hang on to till the end of the match to emerge victors.
In another play-off match, ICL Under-19 got the better of Bombay Disabled SC by a 3-2 margin. Wilson D’Souza, Sandeep Chavan and Aditya Bohir, all scored a goal each for the ICL Colts, while Aakash Saxena netted both the goals for the losing team.
