Catholic Gymkhana continued with its domineering form and scored an impressive 2-0 win against YSA (Youth Soccer Academy) in their second MFA (Mumbai Football Association) First Division play-off match, played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Tuesday morning.

Reuben Fernandes scored Catholic Gymkhana’s first goal
After a couple of missed chances, Catholic Gymkhana finally broke the deadlock when the hard-working left wing back Rohan Pagdhare delivered a measured corner kick for an unmarked Reuben Fernandes to head home the opening goal on the stroke of the half-way mark.

Grenville Murzello scored Catholic Gymkhana’s second goal
On resumption, Catholic Gymkhana continued in the same vein, but the strikers were found wanting. At the other end, YSA put pressure on the Catholic Gymkhana goal. However, goalkeeper Vipul Pagdhare showed a clean pair of hands and foiled all the attempts from the rival attackers.
Catholic Gymkhana doubled the lead in the first minute of additional period. Mohit Chandiramani with a diagonal pass found Grenville Murzello in the clear. Thr latter made no mistake in shooting hone.
This was Catholic Gymkhana’s second win on the trot after they had defeated Yawn FC 3-0 in the first match on Saturday.
Catholic Gymkhana will meet Fr. Agnel Gymkhana in the next match on Thursday.
