Holy Family ‘B’ and ‘C’ enjoyed a successful day winning their respective matches by identical 2-1 matches in first round encounters of the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Rink Football Tournament 2025, played under floodlights at the WCG tennis courts on Friday night.
In the first match of the day, Holy Family ‘B’ got the better of St. Blaise ‘D’, Amboli 2-1 to scrape into the second round. Striker Kevin Coutinho was in impressive form and scored both the goals for the winning side. Pratik Sawant scored the lone goal for the Amboli boys.
Later, in another first round encounter, Holy Family ‘C’ fought hard to record an identical 2-1 win against St. Vincent De Pallotti, Marol.
Strikers Issac Fernandes and Nigel Fernandes were bang on target scoring a goal each for the winners. Viraj Shetty struck the lone goal for the Marol outfit.
Meanwhile, St. James, Virar easily defeated St. Joseph’s ‘A’, Juhu by a 3-1 scoreline. Striker Jake D’Mello scored a brace of goals and Sven D’Mello got one. Vinay Kharvi scored a consolation goal for the losing side.
