St. Peter’s, Bandra produced a solid attacking performance and registered an authoritative 5-0 win over Our Lady of Fatima, Vidya Vihar in a first round match of the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Rink Football Tournament 2025, and played under floodlights at the WCG tennis courts on Wednesday night.
Prolific strikers Ryan Rocha and Ryan D’Souza, were both in impressive scoring form as they scored a brace of goals each to lead St.Peter’s charge to the big victory. Mohit C. scored the first goal for the Bandra outfit.
Earlier, in another first round encounter, Our Lady of Health ‘B’, Sahar inspired by the twin strikes from Umer Shaikh went on to defeat St. Anthony’s ‘B’, Vakola by a comfortable 2-0 margin to secure their place in the next round.
Later, Holy Cross, Kurla did not have to break into a sweat as their opponents Immaculate Conception, Borivali played truant and did not report for the first round match. Holy Cross were awarded a walkover and a place in the second round.
