Our Lady of Health ‘A’, Versova showed good understanding and combined like a well-oiled unit as they charged to a convincing 7-1 victory against St. Louis, Dahisar, in a men’s open second round match of the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Rink Football Tournament 2025, and played under floodlights at the WCG tennis courts on Thursday night.
Leading the Versova boys charge to victory was striker Ryan Bothelo who hit the target twice, while teammates Chris Fernandes, Brayden Fernandes, Pratik Vadilkar, Chetan Solanki and Rohit Bonde contributed one goall each to seal the facile win. The Dahisar outfit managed to pull one back through Ryan Fernandes lone strike.
St. Joseph’s, Umerkhadi also registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Divine Mercy ‘A’, Bhayander in another second round encounter.
In contrast, Our Lady of Egypt, Kalina faced quite a challenge from Holy Cross ‘B’, Kurla before snatching a close 1-0 win to progress into the second round.
