Mumbai Police make positive start defeat CCI by 115 runs

Hosts Mumbai Police Gymkhana started on a positive winning note as the scored an authoritative 115-run win against Cricket Club of India (CCI) on the second day of their opening Group-D league match of the 78th Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2025-26, organized jointly by the Commissionerate of Police Greater Mumbai and the Police Shield Committee and played at the Police Gymkhana ground on Saturday.

Mumbai Police medium pacer Amol Tanpure took four wickets for 36 runs

Mumbai Police were restricted to 307 all out in 64.2 overs in their first innings. But the determined Mumbai Police bowling attack rose to the challenge as they staged a remarkable fight back and they dismissed CCI for a paltry 192 in 52.2 overs.

Medium pacer Amol Tanpure was the Mumbai Police’s star bowler as he picked up 4 wickets for 36 runs. He received good support from medium pacer Nadeem Shaikh 2 for 47 and left-arm spinner Vijay Gohil to secure Mumbai Police easy win. CCI middle-order bat Akash Parkar 70 runs (91-balls,8×4,1×6) and opener Akhil Herwadkar 53 runs (71-balls, 8×4) produced solid batting performances andtried their best to steer CCI to victory.
