Inspired by Sachin Bangera’s excellent five goals blitz St. Francis Xavier’s, Kanjurmarg coasted to massive 8-2 victory against Holy Family ‘B’, Andheri in a high-scoring Men’s Open second round match of the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Rink Football Tournament 2025, and played under floodlights at the WCG tennis courts on Friday night.

Bangera received good support from teammates Sandesh Malpote and Shoaib Baig, who contributed two goals and one goal respectively to complete the winning margin. Holy Family scored their two goals througj Kevin Coutinho and Prashant Rane.
Earlier, Infant another second round encounter, St. Francis Xavier’s, Vasai played with plenty of determination to overcome St. Blaise ‘B’, Amboli 2-1. Strikers Steve Almeida and Abner Almeida scored a goal each to help the Vasai boys snatch a tense victory. Sagar Singh scored the Amboli team’s lone goal.
In another Men’s second round contest, Our Lady of Fatima, Vidya Vihar defeated St. Thomas, Vasai by a comfortable 4-1 shoreline. For the winning Vidya Vihar outfit strikers Edwin Aynikal struck two goals, Trasnwer D’Mello and Samrat Bhangre netted one apiece to seal the win, while Brett Gonsalves scored St. Thomas consolation goal.
