Rizvi Sports Club’s left-arm spinner Abdullah Khatri showed superb bowling skills and claimed six wickets to dismiss Victory Cricket Club for a paltry 142 all out in 83 overs on the first day of their two-day finals of the 29th Late Ajit Naik Memorial MCA Boys’ U-14 Selection Trials Cricket Tournament 2025, and played at the Worli Sports Club ground on Monday.
Choosing to bat first, VictoryCC batters found the going tough against the disciplined efforts of the Rizvi SC bowlers, in particular Abdullah who with his guile tormented the opposition batters. Victory CC’s aggressive number four batsman Vedang Mishra batted bravely to top-score with 46 runs (98-balls, 4×4). Vedang along with Arjun Bhanushali (26) stitched together a 55-run partnership for the fourth wicket to lift the Victory CC innings.
Adbullah was well-supported by off-spinner Ritesh Gupta who picked up two wickets for 15 runs to hasten Victory CC’s downfall.
Rizvi SC made 24 runs for the loss of one wicket in the nine overs remaining before the end of the day’s play.
