Pride of Palghar CC riding on Chandan Dalvi’s unbeaten 67 runs and all-rounder Harshad Desle’s fine performances (31 runs and 2 wickets for 35 runs) registered a narrow 8-run victory against Simbaa Sixers CC in a first round match of the inaugural Suryavanshi Kshatriya T20 Cricket League, organized by Suryavanshi Kshatriya Dnyati Samaj, Mumbai, and played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana on Wednesday.
Pride of Palghar CC’s Chandan Dalvi ( Ext. R) scored an unbeaten 67 runs and was declared as the ‘Man of the Match’.
Put in to bat, Pride of Palghar were well-served by Dalvi who blasted the rival bowlers during his hurricane innings which came from just 37 balls and contained four hits to the boundary ropes and six well-struck sixes. Dhruv Raut (37 runs) and Desle made useful contributions to help the Palghar team post a total of 162 for 5 wickets from their 20 overs.
Later, Simbaa Sixers CC fell short of the winning target as they were restricted to 154 for 8 wickets from 20 overs. Simbaa Sixers batters Saurabh Thakur (37 runs), Akshay Vaidya (36 runs), Hrishikesh Patil (28 runs) and Arya Raut (26 runs) tried their best to take their team over the winning line.
Earlier, Inspired Royals CC scored a convincing 9-wicket win against Suryavanshi Warriors CC in another first round encounter.

Suryavanshi Warriors CC 127 all out, 19.3 overs (Kabir Kore 30, Makrand Raut 24, Navneet S. 23; Parth Gharat 3/26, Pritesh Thakur 2/11) lost Inspired Royals CC 128 for 1, 16.3 overs (Pranesh Dhuru 54, Dhruv Sane 43*, Kedar Raut 20*). Result: Inspired Royals won by 9 wickets.
