Mumbai Cricket Club’s lower order bat Ayan Pathan’s unbeaten 82 runs was the highlight of the team’s 22’run victory against Team Work Cricket Club in the under-14 finals of the MCC Talent Search Boys’ Cricket League 2025, organised by Jwala Sports Foundation and played at the Oval Maidan on Thursday.

Sent in to bat first, Mumbai CC riding on Ayan’s 51-ball knock which contained 11 cracks to the boundary and three well-timed sixes did well to finish with a challenging total of 267 for 9 wickets from their 40 overs. The other batters who made useful contributions were Awais Khan 46 runs, Ankush Paswan 35 runs and Shaurya Veer Nagar 33 runs which lifted the innings. Team Work CC’s Veera Sigamani was the pick of the as claimed 4 wickets for 57 runs, while Musheer Khan took 2 wickets for 38 runs.
Later, Team Work CC were restricted to 245 for 7 from their quota of 50 overs. All-rounder Veera Sigamani top-scored with a patient 71 runs (31-balls, 9×4, 3×6). Saad Khan unbeaten 41 runs, Varun Doshi 35 runs and Aahneya Aadi 28 runs tried to carry the team over the line, but they were unable to accelerate the scoring and fell short of the target. All-rounder Awais Khan picked 3 wickets for 58 runs
The Player of the Match award went to Awais Khan. The Best batter award was won by Ayan Pathan, while
Veera Sigamani was declared as the Best bowler. Wicket-keeper
Dalron Rodrigues, who claimed 25 career stumpings was adjudged the Best fielder.
