GIC Recreation Club got the better of Larsen and Toubro SC in a league match of the Insurance Shield Cricket Tournament 2025-26 organised by Oriental Insurance Company and played at the United Cricketers ground, Cross Maidan.
Making first use of the wicket Larsen & Toubro scored 117 for 8 in their 20 overs. Shlok Sawant’s 53 and an unbeaten knock of 43 by Dalron Rodrigues helped Toubro reach the total. Mann Koli with 4 for 18 and Hamza Shaikh’s 2 for 12 put the brakes on Toubro.
In their reply GIC RC knocked off 119 for 5 in 18.5 overs. Unbeaten Sumit Selokar’s 55 provided the platform for GIC’s win. Nishad Sawant with 4 for 17 did well for the losers.
In another league match, BEST SC overcame Times of India SC with a nine run win. Unconquered knocks of 40 by Nitin Karmale and 38 by Ketan D aided BEST. Prasad Patil bagged two for 26 for Times of India who in their reply wound up with 147 for 8. Prasad Patil’s splendid 70 was the mainstay for Times while Mahesh Naik with 4 for 49 and Nilesh Karmale with 2 for 24 were the main wicket-takers for BEST.

BEST Sports Club 156 for 5, 20 overs (Nilesh Karmale 40*, Ketan D. 38*; Prasad Patil 2 for 26) beat Times of India 147 for 8, 20 overs (Prasad Patil 70, Shravan S. 27; Mahesh Naik 4 for 29, Nilesh Karmale 2 for 24).
Result: BEST Sports Club won by 9 runs.
