Seasoned campaigner Zenul Arsiwala displayed solid fighting qualities as he recovered from the loss of the opening frame to sideline Prasad Wankhedka, by scripting a 3-1 (22-64, 54-36, 52-11, 61-11) victory in a first round match of the CCI Snooker Classic 2026, and played at the iconic Cricket Club of India’s Wilson Jones Billiards Hall on Sunday.

In a match of fluctuating fortunes, Ashish Gore held his nerves to overcome Pradeep Jadhav 3-2 (57-52, 13-53, 61-44, 15-58, 48-44) to progress to the second round.
Earlier, a determined Ruturaj Karnad won the deciding fifth frame against Nauzad Munshi to clinch a 3-2 (52-71, 67-31, 66-28, 44-59, 55-17) victory in another first round encounter.
Meanwhile, Imdad Khan enjoyed smooth sailing against Mithun Merchant and cruised to a straight frame 3-0 (57-13, 50-40, 53-9) success and to advance to the next round.
