Producing a strong second half performance Catholic Gymkhana Ltd. scored twice during this period to register a 2-0 victory against Teleperformance SC in a Mumbai Football Association (MFA) Mumbai Super Corporate League 2025-2026 and played at the Karnatak SA ground, Churchgate on Tuesday.
In an evenly contested encounter, Catholic Gymkhana had a couple of chances to open the account, but strikers Reuben Fwernandes and Karan Kapoor failed to find the back of the net from close range.
On the stroke of the half-time whistle, Teleperformance defender Rohit More was shown the red card pulled down Ruben who was heading towards the rival goal, thus denying Catholic Gymkhana a promising goal scoring opportunity.
Catholic Gymkhana exploited the advantage and in the ninth minute of the second half, Kapoor with a clever lob over the rival goalkeeper Myron D. provided the assist for consistent goal-scorer Kastubh Meher to head into an empty net and put the Gymkhana team in the lead.
Towards the closing stages of the match, Teleperformance reliable midfielder Deviprasad P. made a sloppy backpass to his goalkeeper and Reuben who lurking nearby pounced on the opportunity and raced towards the rival goal before before beat Myron with deft placement and seal Catholic Gymkhana’s win.
