Manoj Ramchandra State Open Badminton
Mumbai’s promising talent Harshit Mahimkar displayed plenty of resilience and tremendous fighting spirit as he after losing the opening game tamely against Ojas Gedam of Akola, bounced back in resounding fashion by winning the next two games to complete a deserving 2-1 (10-15, 15-13 and 15-12) win and secure his place in the semi-finals of the Yonex Sunrise Manoj Ramchandra Memorial State Open Badminton Tournament 2026, conducted by the North Indian Association and Jitesh Padukone Academy, under the auspices of the Maharashtra Badminton Association and played at the Matunga Gymkhana courts. The tournament is being supported jointly by SVC Co-Operative Bank and Saraswat Co-Operative Bank.

Harshit Mahimkar staged a solid fight back to overcome Ojas Gedam in two games in a men’s singles quarter-final match.
Third seed Sarvesh Yadav was in complete control against Aryan Epte and raced to a 15-10, 15-8 win to advance to the last four.
