Myraa wins triple crown once again; Double for Raghav 

Myraa Sangelkar who had earlir won triple crom the TSTTA-MCF  District TT tournament, followed by her two Gold medals at the Maharashtra State Ranking TT tournament, has once again proved that she has no competition coming from TT players from Mumbai. In the recently concluded 3rd MCF- TSTTA District ranking TT tournament , she has shown her domination in the Girls-U-15, Girls U-17 and Women’s Singles events.

Myraa won all three finals defeating Harinee Shah, Ritanya Deolekar and Bhumi Pitale to claim three Gold medals and trophies. The only event she did not participate was Gils U-19, which was won by Trisha Ludbe. The Men’s Singles final was full of rallies between Akanksh Sahoo and Santosh Kolapte . Tall and well built young Akanksh displayed his solid defensive game with sudden surprise attack proved to be superior to Santosh, as he won this only best of seven games match 4-2.

There were many promising players right from the U-9 category, which was held for Boys and Girls together. In the final of this event Myrah Oswal surprised Ayansh Bhalerao with 3-0 win in the finals. Two more Girls proved their ability in the Girls U-11 and Girls U-13 age groups. Dhadkan Tanna who was down 1-2 recovered to beat Ishita Bhangadia 3-2 in Girls U-11, while Radhya Vora who is coached by Eric Fernandes, easily defeated Ishita Bhangadia 3-0.

There was a good match played in Boys U-11 final, when Shiv Bahl scored a hard fought battle against Nimit Kute 3-2. In the Boys U-13 finals favourite Mann Parmar who is coached by hisfather at Star Academy, Vikhroli, had little resistance from upcoming Aarush Ghadi, 3-1. Aarush is also coached by his father Ojas Ghadi.

Another promising youngster Raghav Mahajan won two Gold medals in the Boys U-15 and Boys U-17 events, defeating Ayan Ather 3-0 and Ahan Gosar 3-1. 0. Girs U19 title was won by Trissha Ludbe.

In the Veterans’ 39+ singles final Suraj Chandrashekhar won comfortably agaionst Tejas Naik 3-0, while Pramod Desai from Kandivali, surprised many top players in the Veterans’ Men’s 59+ event scoring an easy 3-0 victory over Sarosh Shroff from Mumbai City District. He had earlier surprised Yogesh Desai in semi finals. Incidentally, TSTTA were liberal in allowing players from other districts to participate in both Veterans’ age groups.
