21 year old Vedant Madhavan, son of Fashion designer Sarita Birje and film actor R.Madhavan has been officially selected to represent India in swimming at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. He is part of India’s 12-member national swimming squad.He will be taking part in Men’s 200 m freestyle, 200m backstroke, and the 4x200m freestyle relay. The Swimming events at the Asian Games run from September 20 to September 25, 2026.
Vedaant Madhavan
Vedaant is an Indian freestyle swimmer and is a gold medallist at the Malaysian Open, a gold and silver medallist at the Danish Open, as well as a bronze medallist at the Lativian and Thailand Open. Vedaant also finished 5th at the Commonwealth Games. He has earned his spot following a strong performance at the Senior National Championships in June, where he recorded a personal best of 1:53.89 in the 200m freestyle.
