Indian Women’s Hockey team created a history today , after winning the final of Women’s Hockey event at the ongoing Asian games in Aichi, Nagoya , Japan. With this historic 1-0 win over China , India ended 44 year long wait for Gold and at the same time secured the place for this team in LA Olympics 2028.

Besides this important Gold medal in Women’s Hockey final, India won five more Gold medals to increase their medal position to 16 Gold, 25 Silver and 35 Bronze. In Boxing, Lovlina Borgohein & Parveen Hooda won a Gold each in their respective weight categoris and Ankush Panghal won Gold in Men’s 80 kg event.
The fourth Gold medal came from Women’s Recurve team in Archery, when Ankita Bhakat, Kirti Sharma & Kumkum Mohod comined well to beat South Korea team 5-3. In the final. The biggest surprise came from Sujeet Kalkal in an exciting Men’s freestyle 65kg Wrestling final. Down 2-9 , Sujeet made a quick recovery in the final stage to win 10-9 and snatch the most deserving Gold.
