Skipper Utkarsh Raut’s fine all-round performance (64 runs and 2 wickets for 25 runs) was the highlight of R.D. Blasters CC’s 26-run win against Pride of Palghar CC in a third round match of the inaugural Suryavanshi Kshatriya T20 Cricket League, organized by Suryavanshi Kshatriya Dnyati Samaj, Mumbai, and played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana on Friday.
R.D. Blasters CC’s all-rounder Utkarsh Raut scored 64 runs and claimed two wickets and was declared as the ‘Man of the Match’.
Batting first, R.D. Blasters powered by Utkarsh’s cameo 30-ball knock which included 6 cracks to the boundary ropes and three well-timed sixes amassed a challenging total of 170 for the loss of 5 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Pride of Palghar’s Harshad Desle was the only bowler to take 2 wickets for 19 runs.
Later, the Blasters bowlers were a disciplined lot and restricted Pride of Palghar to 144 for 8 in 20 overs. Chandan Dalvi and Arjun Dadarkar were the only two batter to score 44 and 29 runs respectively. Blasters’ Prajwal Patil 2 for 15, Samir Patil 2 for 18 and Utkarsh Raut 2 for 25 were responsible to secure the win. Utkarsh once again won the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
In another match, Simbaa Sixers CC managed to score a tense 2-wicket win against Swarajya XI CC. The Simbaa Sixers bowling attack reduced Swarajya CC innings to 101 runs all out in 17.5 overs. In reply, Simbaa Sixers held their nerves to make 102 runs for 8 wickets in 16.4 overs to clinch the win.
