Maharashtra Girls have created a history by winning the National title for the 8th consecutive year today, at the National Sub.Jr. Kho- Kho Championship played at Kurukshetra, Haryana. Maharashtra Girls defeated Rajasthan Girls 27-15 in the finals. However, Maharashtra Boys team, which had earlier won National title for nine consecutive year, had to satisfy with Bronze medal, as they lost to Odisha 25-30 in the semi finals. Odisha boys team however lost to Kolhapur Boys in the finals.

Maharashtra Girls team had another feather in their cap, when their player Aparna Varde won the best player of the tournament Ila award. The best player Bharat award went to Satya Rajan Behre from Odisha.

In other individual awards Maharashtra’s Rahi Patil won Best Defense( Girls) award, while Varad Pol from Maharashtra Boys team also won this best Defense award in this championship. The best attacker in this tournament went to Gaurav Mane from Kolhapur team.
