New Era, Worli Sports score convincing wins

New Era CC powered by Vivian Pandya’s cameo knock of 75 runs (103-balls, 6x4s) registered a thumping 225-run victory against Sporting Union CC in a first-round match of the 29th Late Ajit Naik Memorial MCA Boys’ U-14 Selection Trials Cricket Tournament 2025, played at the New Era ground, Azad Maidan on Thursday.

Batting first, New Era amassed a mammoth total of 279 for 6 wickets from their 45 overs. Besides Vivan’s solid innings, Manjeet Dalvi smashed 56 runs (82-balls, 7×4), while Vraj Patel 41 runs and Aarav Kothari 32 runs lifted the New Era innings.

The Sporting Union batsmen failed miserably and were dismissed for a paltry 54 runs in 19.2 overs.

In another match, hosts Worli Sports Club romped to a comfortable 8-wicket win against Karnatak SA at the WSC ground.

Electing to bat, Karnatak SA were restricted to 110 for 7 wickets from their 45 overs. In response, Worli SC inspired by Atharva Singh’s half century effort 52 runs charged to victory. Atharva was declared Man-of-the-match.
