Oriental Insurance register comfortable 46-run win

Hosts Oriental Insurance Company registered a 46-run victory over Bombay Mercantile Co-op Bank in a league match of the Insurance Shield Cricket Tournament 2025-26 organised by Oriental Insurance Company and played at United Cricketers ground, Cross Maidan.

Oriental batting first rattled up 182 for five in their 20 overs with Aryan Mhase 58, Sameep Misal’s unbeaten 34 and Tarun Bose with 23 being the main contributors. Ansh N captured three for 33 to be the Bank’s main attacking bowler.

The bankers replied with 136 for six with Keyur Trivedi 40, Abdul Hadi 34 and Fardeen Shaikh 20 being the top run-getters. Tarun Basure with two for 30 and Shivam Tiwari with two for 32 did the best for Assurance. Satyam Choudhury’s 35 and Princely Pereira’s 32 resulted in Union Bank finishing with 121 for 7.

New India Assurance replied with an identical 121 for 9. 

Anish Shetty’s 29 and Pratham Salaskar’s 23 did well with the willow for New India Assurance. Deep Gaurav picked uup two for 19 for Union Bank. 

In the Super Over that followed the teams scored identical 12 runs but Union Bank were declared victor on the basis of hitting more boundaries.

Result: Oriental Insurance Company won by 46 runs.

Union Bank of India 121 for 7, 20 overs (Satyam Choudhary 36, Princely Pereira 32) tied with New India Assurance 121 for 9, 20 overs (Anish Shetty 29, Pratham Salaskar 23; Deep Gaurav 2 for 19).

Super over: Union Bank 12 tied with New India Assurance 12.

Result: Union Bank declared winner on basis of hitting more boundaries.
