Priya Marathe, talented actress of Marathi stage, television and film industry, who also shot into prominence with her performance in popular Hindi serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’, passed away at her Mira Road residence on Sunday. Priya was battling with cancer for the past two years. She was 38. Priya is survived by her actor husband Shantanu Moghe. Priya had earlier fought a brave battle with cancer and had receovered. But, could not survive her battle with cancer in the second phase.

Priya who made her television debut through Marathi serial ‘Ya Sukhano Ya’ had performed in many Marathi TV serials, dramas and films in the lead roles. She also appeared in popular Hindi serials including ‘Kasamh Se’, ‘Pavitra Rishta’ and ‘Bade Achhe Lagate Hain’. Priya married actor Shantanu Moghe in the year 2012 and together they appeared in popular Marathi series Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji’.
With her untimely demise, Marathi and Hindi entertainment industry have lost a versatile actress. After her sad demise her near and dear ones who were present for her funeral, expressed a big shock and paid tributes to her departed soul.
