Reuben’s brace in JMJ’s 2nd win


Prolific striker Reuben Fernandes continued with his fine run of scoring form by netting a brace of goals as JMJ Sports  Club recorded their second consecutive win defeating Mumbai Rush 5-1 in a Second Division play-off match of the MDFA Leagues 2017-18 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel.

 

Reuben scored the first goal in the 27th minute and struck the third in the 50th minute while in between those goals Noom Rodrigues scored the third in the 40th minute. Vishal Kapse (63rd min) and Melvin Barboza in the second minute of additional period scored the remaining two goals to seal JMJ’s victory. Nitin Gokhale got the lone goal for the losers.

 

In another match, Bombay YMCA and KNFC Naseeb Reloaded shared honours in a 2-2 draw.

 

In the third match, Das Football Academy blanked Worli Sports Club 2-0. Erhard Fernandes and Jaopkrish Singh were on target for the academy lads.
