State-Level Kho-Kho Referee Camp Sets New Benchmark in Satara

The Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association, in collaboration with the Satara District Amateur Kho-Kho Association, successfully organized the 2025–26 State-Level Kho-Kho Referee Training Camp in Satara, drawing unprecedented participation and acclaim. Out of 580 registered referees, 406 actively attended, making it the most well-attended referee training camp in the state’s history.

The camp commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony at Nirmal Hotel, presided over by Dr. Chandrajit Jadhav, General Secretary of the Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association. The event was graced by eminent personalities such as Adv. Govind Sharma, Treasurer of the Indian and Maharashtra Kho-Kho Associations, Working President Sachin Godbole, and Sandeep Tawde. Technical committee members, referee panel representatives, and other senior officials were also present.

Throughout the camp, participating referees received comprehensive technical training that included updates on new rules, on-field problem-solving techniques, and detailed video-based analysis. Speaking at the event, Dr. Jadhav emphasized the camp’s importance: “This initiative is crucial in preparing Maharashtra’s referees to perform at an international standard, especially in the post-World Cup era.”

The training sessions were led by experienced experts including Prashant Patankar, Sudhakar Raoul, Narendra Kundar, and Nagnath Gajmal, along with other senior members of the referee and technical panels. Their expert guidance significantly enhanced the participants’ confidence and decision-making abilities. The use of audio-visual aids further enriched the learning experience.

The entire program was meticulously coordinated by the Satara District Amateur Kho-Kho Association. Association President Manohar Yadav delivered the welcome address, while General Secretary Mahendrakumar Gadhave offered the vote of thanks. Vasundhara Pawar-Kadam efficiently conducted the proceedings. Treasurer Prashant Kadam, Referee Panel President Aniket More, and members Prasad Gujar and Sumit Nikam played active roles in the event’s organization. The camp also received valuable support from the Satara District Sports Office. Accommodation and meals for all attendees were seamlessly managed by the organizing committee.

This referee camp in Satara was not only a record-breaking event in terms of numbers but also stood out for its quality and execution. With enhanced skills and renewed motivation, Maharashtra’s referees are expected to set new standards in upcoming tournaments, reaffirming the camp’s long-lasting impact.
