Amitabh Bachchan completes 50 years of his acting career

Like many artistes in Bollywood Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has also struggled in the film industry to find a suitable role for himself. Many film makers rejected him, but once he made his presence felt through some of the films in early 70s, there was no stopping for him. He did take a break from film industry, after joining politics, but soon made a comeback into films with his second successful innings and is still going strong. Today, he is the most popular and highly respected senior actor in Film industry .

Mr. Bachchan has also entertained the home viewers as  a host of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ TV Quiz show  for the past 11 seasons. But, do you know that today he will also be completing 50 years of his acting career. Yes, Amitabh Bachchan made his acting debut on 7th November 1969 through the film ‘Saat Hindustani’ in which he played one of the seven protagonists. Little before that he was a voice narrator in Mrinal Sen’s National Award winning film ‘Bhuvan Shome’ starring Late Utpal Dutt and Suhasini Mulay ( who made her debut through this film).Incidentally Mr. Bachchan has done Voice Over for 16 films so far.

Recently, his name has been announced for prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award. But, before that he has been conferred with many other awards like National Award for best actor, 15 Filmfare awards and above all Padmashri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001, Padma Vibhushan in 2015 from Government of India . But, having completed 50 years of his acting career is also a big achievement for which he needs a bigger award.
