Colors’ period drama, Khoob Ladi Mardani…Jhansi Ki Rani not only captures Manikarnika’s story of valor, but also portrays her emotional upheaval, the tender side of a young girl and the struggles she had to overcome. In the upcoming track, the makers encapsulate Manikarnika’s (Anushka Sen) emotional breakdown. She will be seen making several attempts to defend her brothers Shiva & Bheema during their trial in Darbar. She is distressed because even after all the efforts she has put in to save her brothers, both Bheema and Shiva are sentenced to death. While Manikarnika is distressed, there is one person who shows her the right direction in life, Ganga Das.
Entering the show to play the character of Ganga Das, a spiritual guide and Manikarnika’s biggest support, will be the popular television actor Ankur Nayyar. Ganga das is wise and knowledgeable sanayasi, who will be seen mentoring Manu in her freedom struggle. He will be Manu’s guiding light throughout, especially whenever she faces any kind of obstruction.
Revealing about his character, Ankur Nayyar said, “As an actor, it feels great when we get an opportunity to portray different characters on screen and my character of Ganga Das is one such role that I haven’t played before. He is a Guru who has a very powerful aura around him. He speaks with clarity in his thoughts and is a good orator who speaks with authority and vision. When he crosses path with Manikarnika, he will eventually turn out to be her guiding force. Also, the look has been critically conceptualized keeping in the mind the nuances of his character and I hope this character will be appreciated by the audience.” Will Mannu be able to fight against all odds with the help and guidance of Ganga das?
