Kishore Kumar was always a lively person, filled with a lot of energy . It was very difficult to notice him in a tense mood. Had personally met him several times either during song recording or at music release function. He seemed to be always in a cheerful mood. But on one particular occasion on a Saturday afternoon, we were invited for shooting coverage of his film ‘Mamata Ki Chhaon mein’ in early 1987, when he was to shoot with his stars Rajesh Khanna and Raj Babbar.

The scheduled time had passed and it was almost nearing 5 pm. Rajesh Khanna had arrived but had to wait for Raj Babbar’s arrival. He was in no mood to speak to anyone. So, obviously Kishorda had become tense. Those days there were no mobile phones and he was informed that Raj Babbar had already left home. That was for the first time those present on the sets found the always cheerful actor , singer and director in a tense mood. The film was towards completion. But, in few months time, came the sad news of his untimely demise. When his PRO Robin Gupta had invited me for the prayer meeting at his Juhu Tara Road residence and I remember having visited his place to pay tributes to the legend.
Remembering him today on the occasion of his 90th birth anniversary.
