Vinay Sahastrabudhhe elected President of Asiatic Society of Mumbai

The results of the elections to the new managing committee of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai were declared recently. Dr. Vinay Sahastrabudhhe( Former Rajya Sabha M.P.) was elected to the prestigious post of President. He defeated former M.P. Mr. Kumar Ketkar by more than double the votes margin. Dr. Sahastrabudhhe’s panel won a landslide victory, sweeping all 19 executive and committee posts.

The four posts of Vice President were won by :

  1. Ramesh Raghunath Patange
  2. Nitish Bharadwaj
  3. Chandraprakash M. Dwivedi
  4. Sanjay Vasant Deshmukh

The six posts of Managing committee members were won by :

Prachi Amogh Moghe, Madhav Bhandari, Malhar Arvind Kulkarni,  Pramod Vasant Bapat, M. Chakravarthy & Rajesh Behere.

And the seven posts of the members of scrutinizing committee were won by : Sneha Nagarkar, Abhijit Ashok Mulye, Madhavi Narsalay, Umang Anand Kale, Amol Ashok Jadhav, Malhar K. Gokhale, Dattatray Damodar Panchwagh.

The newly elected leadership has pledged an inclusive, non-partisan approach to modernize the institute, engage the younger generation, and expand its activities beyond South Mumbai.
