Raigad Crossers held their nerves to overcome Mumbai Snipers by a thrilling 55-53 (HT: 16-18) margin in a boys match of the Olympia Sports & Events organised 1st Basketball Development League (BDL), Mumbai edition and played at the VIBGYOR High School, Goregaon, West on Saturday.

The BDL is conducted under the auspices of the North Mumbai District Basketball Association (NMDBA) and the Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA).
This is a first-of-its-kind franchise-based grassroots basketball league dedicated to identifying, developing, and promoting the next generation of basketball talent across Mumbai and Maharashtra.
The Raigad team were well-served by Salman Shaikh who top-scored with 27 points and Ibrahim Qureshi who contributed 14 points, including the last two which sealed the win.
For Mumbai Snipers Johan Joshua scored 19 points and Zayed Lamby chipped in with 11 points.
In girls matches, Mumbai Snipers got the better of Navi Mumbai Sports Riders 27-24 and South Mumbai Maniacs easily defeated ND Sparks Bhyander 33-26.
Results – Girls: Mumbai Snipers (Jyena Surya 8, Hreem Sumit 7) beat Navi Mumbai Sports Riders (Bharya Kalyani 9) – 27-24 (HT: 16-7).
South Mumbai Maniacs (Inchara Kadli 13, Narayani N. 11) beat ND Sparks Bhyander (Saisha Choudhary 10, Ravi Rekhani 8) – 33-26 (HT: 17-7).
Boys: Raigad Crossers (Salman Shaikh 27, Ibrahim Qureshi 14) beat Mumbai Snipers (Johan Joshua 19, Zayad Lamby 11) – 55-53 (HT: 16-18).
