South Mumbai Maniacs recorded a 50-42 victory against Pune Global Sports in a Boys U-13 match of the Olympia Sports & Events organised 1st Basketball Development League (BDL), Mumbai edition and played at the VIBGYOR High School courts, Goregaon, West on Sunday.
The BDL is conducted under the auspices of the North Mumbai District Basketball Association (NMDBA) and the Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA).
The leading shooters for Mumbai Maniacs was Vishaun Lasardo who scored 14 points, while Abdullah Bagalkoti 11 points and Tanay Badani 9 points helped complete the win.
Pune Global Sports managed to score baskets through Vedant Kadam 11 points and Umar Qureshi 9 points.
South Mumbai Maniacs also tasted success in the girls ccontest defeating Raigad Crossers 33-22 after leading 13-6 at the interval.
Results – Boys: South Mumbai Maniacs (Abdullah Bagalkoti 11, Vishaun Lasardo 14, Tanay Badani 9) beat Pune Global Sports (Vedant Kadam 11, Umar Qureshi 9) – 50-42 (HT: 24-14).
JB Navi Mumbai (Arnesh Ganguly 18, Abhir Shetty 14, Hrian Sheth 15) beat Raigad Crossers (Salman Shaikh 34) – 60-52 (HT: 29-19).
Girls: South Mumbai Maniacs (Narayani N. 13, Inchara Kadli 8) beat Raigad Crossers (Eva Barjatya 11, Tiana Sequeira 9) – 33-22 (HT: 13-6).
