India takes 4th Position after winning Five more Gold medals

Today was the happiest day for our sportspersons at the ongoing Asian Games in Aichi, Nagoya, Japan, as India won five more Gold medals to climb to 4th Position in the medals tally.  In the two big team event finals , Indian Men’s cricket team first beat Pakistan by 19 runs and then our Men’s hockey team beat Malaysia to bag one Gold medal each for India.

Pranavi Sharath Urs

Besides these two team event Gold medals, 23 year old Pranavi Sharath Urs from Mysore, became the first Indian Woman Golfer to win a Gold medal in individual event . Pranavi also won a Silver medal in the Women’s Golf team event along with Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar.

The other two Gold medals in individual events were won by Kumkum Mohod in Women’s Recurve Archery and Aman Sherawat in Men’s 57 Kg Boxing. Tomorrow will be the final day of Asian games 2026, when Neeru Dhanda, who has won 2 Gold and 1 Silver in this championship, will be India’s flag bearer at the closing ceremony.
