After watching the good show by our Athletes and Shooters at the 20th Asian Games at Aichi- Nagoya, Japan, now it was the turn of our Archery teams to bag three more Gold medals with another Gold coming from Shooting ( Trap Mixed team). Sahil Jadhav proved to be the hero, being a perfectionist, for being part of two Gold medal winning Indian Archery teams i.e.Men’s Compound team along with Ganesh & Kushal Dalal) and Compound Mixed team pairing with Chikitha Taniparthi.
The Women’s Compound Archery team comprising of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep & Chikitha Taniparthi also displayed a good team spirit, while winning today’s third Gold after defeating China. The fourth Gold medal won today by Shooting Trap Mixed team comprising of Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai, also set a new Asian Games record of winning India’s first-ever gold in the event. With this progress, India has moved to 8th position with medal tally of 10 Gold, 21 Silver and 29 Bronze medals.
In the semi finals of Women’s Hockey, India defeated South Korea 2-0 to move into the final and ensuring a medal. Also, in the semi final of Women’s 75 Kg Boxing individual event, our Olympic Bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain, displayed her best performance by winning this round 3-2 against Natalya Bogdanova. Many other Indians are expected to win Gold medals in team and individual events in next 3 -4 days. And, we are also looking forward to our crucial Men’s team matches in Hockey and Cricket tomorrow. Let’s hope for the best.
