Indian Women score over Australia to enter semis at Commonwealth TT 

Host India began well in Men’s and Women’s team event in the 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2026, which is being held at the Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi, India, featuring players from 25 nations. Though Indian team had mixed luck in their group league, the Indian Women today defeated Australia to enter the semi finals stage.

Yashaswini Ghorpade

The Indian women’s team comprising of Sreeja Akula, Yashaswini Ghorpade and Sutirtha Mukherjee won one match each to win their crucial match 3-2 against Australia. In the deciding 5th match, despite losing the first match, 21 year old Yashaswini Ghorpade fought very hard to defeat Min Yung Jee in straight games, helping in India’s 3-2 victory. However, the Indian Men’s team is fighting hard with Australia Men’s team for advancing further,to stay in the race.
