India’s mixed team, comprising of Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet brought second gold medal for India , when they won the 10 mt. air pistol final. In another shooting event of Men’s 50 mt.rifle 3 positions team event, APS Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil & Niraj Kumar combined well, to win a silver medal.

Today, also turned out to be a good day for other Indian athletes, as Gulveer Singh won a Silver in Men’s 10,000 mts. run. Manpreet Kaur also gave a superb performance, as she won a Bronze in Women’s shot put final round. This 37 year old mother of a teenage daughter, certainly inspired one and all, watching her performance and her dedication to this sport.

The performance of Baranica Elangovan is also to be admired. This 29 year old national record holder from TamilNadu, won a bronze in the Women’s pole vault final. In Table Tennis individual events , Manush Shah and Diya Chitale won a bronze in the TT Mixed doubles event. India’s other doubles pairs in Mixed and Women’s doubles lost in quarter finals. However, Yashaswini Ghorpade kept India’s hopes alive in the Women’s singles, as she moved into 3rd round , after defeating Hend Zaza from Syria in the 2nd round.
There are big expectations of Gold medals from India’s Kabaddi teams, as both Men’s and Women’s teams have entered finals. Also, there is more to come from our athletes in different individual and team sports events, who have progressed further to acquire more medals for India.
