MLA Satish Chavan met Dy.CM Ms. Sunetra Pawar to convince her and demand justice for Kho-Kho Champs, who won the first World Cup Kho –Kho Championship in Delhi last year. In this demand, he has asked for Cash Prize of Rs. 2.25 Crore and assurance of Government job.
MLA Satish Chavan submits the demand for Kho-Kho Champs to Dy.CM Ms. Sunetra Pawar
It may be recalled that Government had assured award for the Kho-Kho champs, after winning the World Cup last year. But, they have not received any award yet. Moreover, Maharashtra Government Sports Department had made available funds of Rs. 10 Crore for this World Championship. And, as per the 7 October 2024 decision of Sports department of Maharashtra Government, the team players winning Sr.World Championship/ World Cup Events were entitled for Rs. 2.25 Crore cash award.
Mr. Satish Chavan brought this to the notice of Dy.CM and she has instructed her officials to look into the matter.
