Don Bosco, Matunga eked out a fighting 3-2 win against Independent SC in a Boys’ U-16 league match of the St. Peter’s Cup Hockey Tournament 2026 organised by the SPYC and played at the St. Stanislaus High School ground on Thursday.
Parth Chintal scored a brace of goals for the Matunga outfit and Royden Koli scored one to complete the win. Independent scored through Kartikeyan Pandey and Prince Shah.
In a Men’s Seniors league match, Warriors SC defeated Independent SC by a 3-1 margin. Nitin Dhika, Roy Lewis and Junaid Coutinho struck one goal apiece for the winning side while Independent SC pulled one back through Vivek Panchal’s effort.
In another match, Artic Super Boys and Hockey Navi Mumbai played out a goalless draw.
