After entertaining the film lovers for more than 20 years, with films like ‘Munnabhai MBBS”, ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, ‘PK’, ‘3 Idiots’, Ferari Ki Sawari’ and ‘Sanju’,renowned editor, producer- director Rajkumar Hirani is back as a producer with his latest web series on Jio Hotstar OTT platform.
Set on the backdrop of picturesque Goa, this 6 episode Hindi Cyber Crime comedy, revolves around the unusual friendship between Pedro Gonsalves a traditional Police officer and a young bright tech expert Pritam Parkar. When a Minister’s son is kidnapped, Pedro who is posted in cyber cell on a punishment and is assigned the job of investigation by the Police Commissioner, he seeks help from Pritam.
Whle investigating this complicated case, they come across strange experiences, which generate lot of humour. Instead of directing this film himself, Rajkumar Hirani has handed over this responsibility to cinematographer turned director Avinash Arun, who has done his job well, in handling this timely subject.
Arshad Warsi in the role of Pedro imprersses with his spontaneity at any given situation in the film, be it filled with emotions or comedy. However,it is young debutant Vir Hirani, who invites the attention of all, with his natural performance. Equally impressive performance comes from Vikrant Massey in the role of Martin Fonseca. However, without the support of Shruti Marathe (Minister’s wife), Nachiket Purnapatre ( Her Ex-boyfriend), Mona Singh ( Pedro’s wife), Bharat Ganeshpure and few others, it would not have been possible to form a good team work amongst them.
Hirani’s favourite Boman Irani does a special appearance. However, surprise comes from two other celebrities through their cameo in the later part of the film. Certainly a gripping series with good entertainment.
