Shivaji Park set to witness the thrill and excitement of Indoor Cricket

Cricket lovers in Mumbai are all set to experience a fast-paced, aggressive and thrilling new version of the game through Indoor Cricket. The MahaMumbai Indoor Cricket Sports Association will be organising the grand ‘Mayor Cup Indoor Cricket Tournament’ from May 22 to May 24, 2026, at the Urban Sport Turf of Park Club, located near the historic Shivaji Park area in Dadar.

Matches on May 22 will be played between 8 am and 12 noon, while on May 23 and 24, the action will begin from 6 pm onwards. The exciting indoor cricket format promises edge-of-the-seat entertainment for spectators on every ball.

Fast and Exciting 8-Over Format

Although each team will consist of 12 players, only 8 players will be on the court at a time. Every team will play one batting and one bowling innings, with each innings consisting of 8 overs. Interestingly, every player in the fielding side must bowl one over. Except in case of injury, no player will be allowed to bowl more than one over. The format is expected to test not only power-hitting skills, but also strategy, speed and decision-making abilities.
