To Glenmark Aquatic Foundation’s Sushrut Kapse goes the honour to set the solo record in the men’s 5000 metres freestyle event in the Khar Gymkhana Subodh Danke Memorial 13th Open Marathon Gala here.. He bettered Proney Adhikari’s 2008 record (58:13.87) by clocking 57:19.65 secs.
The women’s 5000m event was won by Police Swimming Pool’s Jyoti Patil, who clocked 1:12:07.05 secs. She just pipped was her twin sister Aarti (1:12:07.95 secs). While Goregaon Sports Club’s Snel Bhal followed them home way behind.
