While Indian Women’s Cricket team has raised India’s hope for Gold medal, after winning their semi final match against Bangladesh, their women’s team comprising of Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar, Vidarsa Vinod in the 10 m Rifle Shooting event, bagged Silver, besides Elavenil Valarivan bagging another Silver in the individual event at Asian Games in Aichi- Nagoya, Japan today. In India’s Cricket win Shefali Verma played a big role scoring a century.

Though India stands at the 10th place in the medals tally and yet to win a Gold; their chances are bright in the days to come, with good progress shown by other sportspersons in different events. India’s top player Quimcy D’Souza invited all the attention in the newly introduced Teqball event, though she missed her bronze medal in singles semi final match.
Indian Women’s table tennis team won their 2nd group league match against Singapore by a narrow margin. Yashaswini Ghorpade put up a starshow in this match,winning both her matches, includingthe hard fought deciding match 3-2 against Loy Ming. India’s captain Sreeja Akula won the third match. Indian Men’s team had mixed fortune, as they lost to Iran 0-3, after beating Indonesia 3-0 earler in the group matches.
Now, Indian Women’s TT team will take on Pakistan tomorrow @ 10 am in their next group F match, while their Men’s team will also face the same country opponents @ 19.00 hours in their next group match.
