Mumbai Suburbs’ Kaushal Dharmamar has been top seeded in the men’s singles event in the Maharashtra State Open badminton tournament, to be organized by Badminton Organisation of Raigad at Dy Patil Sports Academy at Nerul as well as at Sea Breeze Club (Nerul) and Merchants Club (Vashi) from tomorrow (February 8). Kaushal is followed by Akshay Manwadkar, Gautam Rege and Ruturaj Desphande in that order.
Apart from men’s singles and doubles other events are: Women’s singles, mixed doubles, boys and girls in U-17, U-15, U-13 and U-11 categories. In addition there will be singles for those in the plus 35 and 45 categories. The matches upto quarterfinals will be played on best of one game of 30 points basis, while semifinals and finals will be of best of three games of 15 points.
