Union Bank of India were lucky to taste success as they managed to strike a late which enabled them to overcome a determined IDBI Bank by a narrow 1-0 scoreline in an absorbing Premier Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2023-2024 and played St. Pius College ground, Goregaon on Wednesday.
In an evenly contested encounter, IDBI Bank outfit put up a determined performance and had they been sharper in attack, they could have denied Union Bank from snatching the solitary goal win and the three full points.
Union Bank who were more organized in every department managed to score the only goal of the match at the death with Tyson Patel hitting the target in the 89th minute.
Earlier, Indian Navy and HDFC Bank shared honours and two points as they played out a tame goalless draw in another Premier Division encounter.
